About the position

We are seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented Associate Director, Materials to continue to raise our high bar in manufacturing leadership.
The ideal candidate will be able to effectively lead a team of planners, supervisors, and materials associates in support of operational goals and requirements. The successful candidate will develop and implement a vision with new strategies in technology and systems to maximize utilization of material and labor in a high-volume production environment. This candidate must be a self-starter and motivated to make a significant change in a well-established environment.
Key Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities for this position include :
- Execute the lean vision and strategy to reduce inventory, lead-time, and waste to improve process quality.
- Drive measurable improvements that support metrics for customer delivery, productivity, inventory management and product flow.
- Lead teams to develop pull systems, training personnel, and other activities to achieve world-class process flow.
- Develop value stream maps for the factory and eliminate process waste through implementation of lean techniques.
- Encourage use of lean tools to pull material from suppliers and internal sources / customers.
- Drive lean focus on material delivery route optimization and material days on hand Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) to reduce operating costs.
- Promote Six Sigma / Lean integration utilizing strength of both methods to achieve business goals.
- Drive improvements in material flow utilizing lean methods.
- Train site on lean concepts and mentor using lean tools.
