Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
Description:
Vighter is recruiting healthcare professionals to conduct basic screening assessments and provide healthcare services to individuals detained by Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Healthcare is delivered in accordance with approved medical protocols and in compliance with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) directives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides emergency care to help stabilize employees or visitors for life, death, loss of sight/limb situations until Emergency Medical Services arrives
- Performs medical history and physical assessment; determines chief complaint
- Performs vital signs electronically and manually, as indicated
- Apply professional principles, procedures, and techniques for patient care
Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of one year of experience in direct patient care as a licensed/certified EMT
- Successful completion of a US-based training program leading to licensure/certification as an Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT)
- Must have a current, active, valid, unencumbered license/registration/certification to practice healthcare in the state in which the candidate will work
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved organization
Work Environment:
The CBP mission runs 24/7/365 to protect our country. Shift schedules include day, night, weekday, weekend, and holidays. Travel is not required for this position, but candidates may be expected to work at alternate worksites within 50 miles of their permanent residence.
