**Job Title:** Nurse Practitioner (NP)
Nurse Practitioners (NPs) conduct basic screening assessments and provide healthcare services to individuals detained by Customs and Border Protection (CBP). NPs work under the Regional Program Manager and Regional Deputy Program Manager while performing healthcare services under the medical direction of the National Medical Director and Physician Supervisors who collaborate with CBP's Office of the Chief Medical Officer (OCMO).
Healthcare is delivered in accordance with approved medical protocols and in compliance with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) directives. The medical staff must be capable of providing health care services for persons of all ages, including infants, children, adults, and pregnant females.
This position provides an opportunity to work with diverse populations alongside a supportive team of healthcare professionals and administrative staff.
**Responsibilities:
- Conduct basic screening assessments and provide healthcare services to individuals detained by Customs and Border Protection (CBP)
- Work under the Regional Program Manager and Regional Deputy Program Manager while performing healthcare services under the medical direction of the National Medical Director and Physician Supervisors
- Deliver healthcare services in accordance with approved medical protocols and in compliance with Department of Homeland Security (DHS) directives
- Provide health care services for persons of all ages, including infants, children, adults, and pregnant females
Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of one year of experience in direct patient care and licensed/certified as a Nurse Practitioner (NP)
- Qualifying experience includes detention or correctional healthcare, residential healthcare, a hospital, outpatient clinic, nursing home, or other supervised medical, nursing, or patient care facility that provided direct patient care
- Successful completion of a US-based accredited Nurse Practitioner training program leading to licensure/certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP)
- Must have a current, active, valid, unencumbered license/registration/certification to practice healthcare in the state in which the candidate will work
- Board Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) Certification, Pediatric Nursing (PCNB) Certification, National Certification Corporation (NCC) certification, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB), or the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) is required and must be maintained, and all obligations fulfilled
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for health care providers, AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, American Red Cross CPB/BLS for the professional rescuer, American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) CPR and AED for healthcare providers and professional responders
