Job Summary:
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient processes in receiving, storing, and shipping goods. This role includes managing warehouse staff in the absence of the Fabrication Manager, ensuring adherence to safety standards, and implementing strategies to optimize warehouse operations and inventory management. The Warehouse Supervisor ensures that all activities are completed in a timely and efficient manner while meeting company goals and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise Warehouse Operations:
- Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, including receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
- Ensure that all inventory is handled, stored, and tracked according to company standards.
- Monitor workflow and productivity, making adjustments as necessary to meet operational goals.
Staff Management:
- Supervise warehouse staff when the Fabrication Manager is absent
- Promote a team-oriented, safety-conscious work environment.
Inventory Control:
- Ensure inventory accuracy by performing regular stock counts and ensuring proper organization within the warehouse.
- Work closely with inventory management teams to reconcile discrepancies and manage inventory levels.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining inventory management systems (WMS).
Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce health and safety standards, ensuring all team members adhere to safety protocols and regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free warehouse environment.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and legal regulations regarding the storage and handling of materials.
Quality Control:
- Ensure that products are stored and shipped in optimal condition.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure product quality standards are met.
- Work with other departments to resolve any issues related to damaged or defective products.
Process Improvement:
- Analyze and optimize warehouse processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.
- Develop and implement new procedures or modifications to existing processes.
- Work with warehouse managers and other departments to continuously improve operations.
Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of warehouse activities, including inventory levels, and shipment logs.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on warehouse performance and operational metrics.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to warehouse efficiency and report on progress.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or in a similar role in warehouse management.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and logistics processes.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Knowledge of OSHA and safety regulations in warehouse environments.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in logistics, business, or a related field preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move materials
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the warehouse for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment, which may include exposure to varying temperatures.
