The ViiV Head of R & D Finance will have two direct reports & be responsible for partnering with the R&D organization to support the development of the future pipeline from discovery to late stage. This role reports into the VP Global Financial Controller.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:
- Lead Finance Partnering support to the Head of ViiV R&D Senior Vice President ViiV and the R&D leadership team providing active financial leadership and challenge for the end to end R&D pipeline from discovery to late stage
- Lead the portfolio investment for R&D decision making and provide financial leadership , support and challenge as a member of the Portfolio Investment Committee
- Provide financial analysis and support for the R&D segment reporting
- Support the allocation of resources to maximise return on investment and to ensure delivery of R&D objectives. Endorse the use of effort tracking and IRM within the programs to drive a comprehensive view of resource allocation. Be an active support for resource allocation, challenging assumptions and forecasts.
- Partner with the Global Commercial Finance partners and GSK R&D Partners to ensure integration of R&D and commercial assumptions into key investment decisions and scenarios
- Lead planning and drive clarity and accountability on all financial matters (headcount cost, budgets, approval processes) across the total R&D organization,
- Ensure that Global R&D meet agreed financial plans and that risks and opportunities are clearly understood and actively managed. Support this through the provision of analysis, insight and challenge related to performance.
- Accountable for the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting related to Global R&D, and for financial governance within this area.
- Provide financial support to Business Development opportunities and partner with alliance manager to ensure BD deals are accounted for and incorporated into future forecasts appropriately including milestone payments
- Direct leadership of team of 2 and indirect management of finance analysts in the finance hubs
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
- Bachelor's Degree & 5 plus years of experience as a Finance Partner within a business environment, including 3 plus years of leading a team
- Experience with presenting financial plans, including analysis
- Experience working with business stakeholders
- Experience with modelling, analysis, forecasting, strategic / scenario planning and decision making.
- Project Management experience
- Experience with financial systems and processes

- Track record of driving sound business decision making in relation to complex problems based on robust, impartial financial analysis
- Track record of delivering simplification
- Ability to work in a complex and fast moving environment with multiple priorities
- Knowledge of R & D
