Job Summary:
An entry level Sprinkler Design Technician will work in a team environment to design a water-based fire protection systems. Work will include all aspects of the system design including CAD layout, code interpretation, design submittal, coordination, and material procurement. This individual will also continue to support the project through installation and turnover to the Owner. Requirements:
- CAD experience a required
- Experience with HydraCAD, AutoSprink or similar preferred
- Experience using Bluebeam, Adobe Pro to markup and package PDF’s preferred
- Self-motivated, driven, possess strong attention to detail, have the ability to multi-task ongoing projects, and have a strong sense of teamwork.
- Experience with fire protection systems, building codes and standards, and general construction is preferable.
- Experience with MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word required
- High school diploma/GED required
- Associates degree or Bachelors degree with engineering emphasis preferred
Responsibilities:
- Working with the design team to complete layout and design of a complete sprinkler system including running hydraulic calculations
- Ensure the design meets NFPA and local codes
- Providing detailed drawings to the field crews allowing a seamless and smooth installation
- Drafting/layout of fire protection systems, code interpretation, coordination with architects/engineers/building trades and building officials, material procurement, and coordination with field personnel.

$25 - $32/hr. depending on experience
