What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Technician position at Viking Equipment?
Viking Equipment is seeking an air and lube equipment technician with experience diagnosing and repairing compressors, air/oil piping and reels, or other similar types of industrial equipment. We will train, pay scales with experience. Construction, plumbing, HVAC, facility maintenance experience a plus!
We perform maintenance and installation of various automotive equipment such as vehicle lifts, air compressors, air and oil reels, tire machines, exhaust systems, pumps etc. The ideal candidate would have a strong working knowledge and experience accurately diagnosing and repairing both mechanical and electrical issues. Job responsibilities include:
1) Continually representing Viking Equipment in a professional manner.
2) Ensuring your truck is equipped with the needed supplies to complete your service orders for the day.
3) Accurately filling out paperwork or digital forms explaining the issues found and how they were addressed, as well as keeping track of parts used for the repair.
4) Communicating effectively with customers, vendor technical support, and office staff to ensure the best possible service to our customers.
5) Diagnosis and repair of air and lube plumbing, pumps, compressors, etc.
6) Driving a company vehicle, sometimes with a trailer and scissor lift in tow throughout CT, RI, MA and parts of NY.
Requirements:
1) Own your own hand tools, we will provide specialty tools when needed.
2) Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
3) Ability to lift objects weighing up to 75lbs regularly. Able to bend, twist, push/pull and work above your head, below your waste etc.
4) Experience repairing or maintaining mechanical and/or electrical issues, plumbing, HVAC or similar skill.
5) Ability to work in hot/cold and often loud environments, tight spaces, and at heights.
6) A sense of urgency, exhibit a strong work ethic, be dependable, and show initiative and ownership.

On the job training is provided but you must have competency in at least some of the above skills. We would like to send you on your own for repairs early in your employment. Pay: This is a 40 hour a week position with O/T available, Monday through Friday. Some weekend work is available but optional. Good attendance is required, we keep busy! $28 and up scaling with experience.
