Viking is looking for an individual with a strong maintenance skill set and a can-do attitude. This position is responsible for both the Hastings, MI, and Caledonia, MI, facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Performing basic repair and general maintenance on buildings, grounds, and equipment at the two sites including electrical, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and painting tasks.
• Grounds keeping duties include but are not limited to : Snow removal from parking lots and sidewalks, lawn maintenance, and general up-keep of outdoor area.
• Diagnose malfunctions and provide repair and / or modifications for the company's buildings, production and packaging areas.
• Consult with outside vendors other subcontractors on an as needed basis for assistance with preventive maintenance, repair and modification, and other related issues.
• Perform all maintenance and repairs completely and in accordance with all company, manufacturer, state and federal requirements.
• Maintain and store onsite equipment so it is easily accessible and in good working order when needed for a job.
• Maintain all maintenance, repair, and other related records.
• Assist in selecting preferred vendors and contractors.
• Schedule all preventive maintenance by outside contractors as required.
• Perform all duties in accordance to all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, and HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) guidelines including but not limited to lockout / tagout, machine guarding, eye and hearing protection, and confined space entry.
• Perform other responsibilities as necessary to contribute to the company goal of providing our customers with cost-effective, super-premium products and outstanding customer service.
• Repairing and treating structures such as floors, sinks, walls, carpets and roofs.
• Managing construction projects, directing contractors and employees and coordinating between the various teams.
• Monitor and manipulate the control software for HVAC, lighting, power, security and building access.
• Any other duties as assigned.
• Answer calls at all hours, responding to alarms.
