Job Description
The Director of Human Resources plays a crucial role in shaping the company's future by developing and implementing strategic plans for the Human Resources function. This includes directing and managing the entire organization's human resources function, developing strategies in support of the needs, goals, and objectives of the total organization. The position requires influencing business decisions by analyzing and reviewing human resource implications of planned changes in management, policies, programs, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements strategic plans for the Human Resources function.
- Directs people functions of the organization in accordance with policies & practices and laws, regulations, and administrative rulings of the governmental organizations and other regulatory organizations.
- Recruits executive management and professional employees, and oversees recruiting efforts for technical, office non-exempt positions and all hourly positions.
- Implements succession planning / management development program throughout the Company.
- Creates, recommends, and coordinates company strategic training and organizational development plans.
- Oversees long-term strategic, as well as day-to-day, responsibilities for compensation.
- Assesses value & cost of health & benefit programs.
- Directs administration of corporate benefit programs and WC, STD, FMLA, & LTD programs.
- Creates, recommends, and coordinates changes to the wellness program.
- Oversees all recordkeeping responsibilities and compliance with government agency requirements.
- Directs safety & environmental health function throughout the organization.
- Serves as primary liaison and decision-maker in negotiating, administering, and interpreting labor agreements.
- Serves as business confidant to management team on handling people issues and addressing strategic initiatives.
- Directs all people-related employee relations activities.
