Job Description

The HVAC Installation Technician is responsible for installing, assembling, and maintaining HVAC systems in homes, offices, and commercial buildings. This includes the installation of furnaces, air conditioning units, ventilation ducts, and other related systems. The technician ensures that all installations are done according to safety regulations, local codes, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities :

Install HVAC Systems : Install heating, cooling, and ventilation systems, including air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, and ductwork.
System Setup : Ensure that all systems are set up to operate efficiently and according to manufacturer specifications.
Inspection and Assessment : Evaluate customer premises to determine the best system design, ensuring proper airflow, energy efficiency, and overall system function.
Wiring and Electrical Setup : Install and connect electrical wiring for the HVAC equipment, including thermostats, control systems, and power supply connections.
Equipment Calibration : Test and balance installed systems to ensure they are operating at peak efficiency.
Maintain Documentation : Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation related to installations, including time logs, system schematics, and compliance forms.
Customer Interaction : Explain system features to clients, answer questions, and provide helpful tips for proper system use and maintenance.
Troubleshooting : Assist with diagnosing and fixing minor issues during installation, ensuring that the system functions properly.
Safety Compliance : Adhere to all safety guidelines and local codes to ensure safe and compliant installations.
Clean Up : Ensure that the installation area is left clean and free of debris after completing the job.

Qualifications :

Experience : 3 years experience in HVAC installation.

Certification : EPA 608 Certification (for handling refrigerants), and relevant state or local HVAC certifications as required.

Knowledge : Knowledge of HVAC systems, components, tools, and best practices for installation.

Technical Skills : Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems, blueprints, schematics, and HVAC controls.

Physical Ability : Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various physical environments, including confined spaces or high places.

Communication : Good interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with customers and team members.

Attention to Detail : Strong ability to follow instructions and ensure accurate installations.

Preferred Qualifications :

Additional certifications (e.g., NATE certification).

Experience with residential and commercial installations.

Knowledge of energy-efficient HVAC systems and sustainability practices.

Working Conditions :

Full-time position with occasional overtime.

Travel to job sites (company vehicle may be provided).
