The Electrical Engineering Technician plays a pivotal role in addressing customer electrical service issues, managing warranty concerns, and supporting internal electrical engineering, managing small projects, and electrical build requirements. The Electrical Engineering Technician will support product project execution. This position involves coordinating with venders, departments, and stakeholders to ensure timely resolutions and maintain seamless customer operations.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to machine programming and electrical systems
- Single Point of contact for electrical related service calls.
- Work with customers on a daily basis
- Backup electrical support for projects
- Learn and master electric component control programs to provide for the proper function of PLC, HMI, motion and message display
- Assists with non-electrical customer service calls when overflow assistance is needed
- Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot wiring
- Maintains technical and operational documentation
- Conduct on-site visits and remote support sessions as needed to address customer concerns
- Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency
- Build positive relationships with customers
- Track customer support calls with company CRM (Salesforce)
- Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings
- Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation
- Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records
- Train customers and internal staff on the proper use and maintenance of electrical systems
- Maintain virtual PCs for service PCs.
- Demonstrate proficiency in reading electrical schematics and troubleshooting electrical wiring
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of packaging machine setup and operation
- Ability to use PLC and motion control software, such as Logix 5000, Siemens TIA Step 7
- Ability to effectively utilize complex software for design, problem solving, and documentation
- Experience with networking and communication hardware and protocols
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to use hand tools and basic electronic measuring devices
- Ability to use Microsoft Office software, and various Viking Masek systems
Preferable Skills:
- 1-2 years of experience with PLC and HMI programming and control system design experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens
- Familiarity with Eplan, AutoCAD

- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and/or reach above shoulders.

Hours: Monday through Friday. 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. based on departmental needs. Travel may be required. (Can be flexible).
