Job Description:
The Project Engineer serves as a technical resource for all project related teams. Their main objective is to support the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. Working in conjunction with all project teams as the key technical advisor and product advocate, the Project Engineer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction throughout the project.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
KRA #1 - Project Evaluation and Management
- Evaluate high complexity and high-risk projects
- Verify as-sold equipment meets or exceeds project specifications
- Handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities
KRA #2 - Mechanical Design and Engineering Support
- Assist the Mechanical Engineering department with engineering drawings, part numbers, and purchasing-driven work
- Perform and/or coordinate mechanical component and systems design services
- Coordinate sizing, optimization analysis, and design recommendations. Conduct sizing calculations or analytics for equipment design or modification
KRA #3 - Documentation and Standards Adherence
- Review, apply, and maintain User Requirement Specification (URS) documentation
- Accurately and consistently apply engineering and manufacturing standards
- Create and maintain mechanical component/system documentation (e.g., BOMs, flow charts, schematics)
- Maintain accurate records of technical product, machine data, and project details
KRA #4 - Coordination and Vendor Interaction
- Coordinate with proposal coordinators, purchasing, and engineering to obtain vendor quotations.
- Provide OEM equipment and commercial item specifications
- Engage with customers to discuss project needs, layouts, utilities, and functionality
KRA #5 - Testing, Support, and Process Optimization
- Define and carry out equipment testing with engineering and process technicians
- Provide support for packaging equipment fabrication, assembly, checkout, and startup
- Maintain expertise in product, process, and application knowledge
- Establish SPC (Statistical Process Control) and performance criteria
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial) or equivalent experience and specialized training
- Minimum 3 years of experience in project engineering, applications engineering, or related field
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Desired Skills:
- 5 of project or applications engineering experience
- Experience in client facing interactions
- Experience within the packaging industry
- Firm understanding of project management process (scope, schedule, spend)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to use Microsoft Office software, Salesforce, AutoCad, Solidworks, PDM and various Viking Masek systems
