Job Description:
Directly responsible for complete support of the customers assigned to you as well as all Viking customers as needed. To become a valuable piece of our sales team, and Viking Materials employee who will help contribute to a positive work environment and continued growth to meet our corporate goals.
Job Responsibilities:
• Support and work together with the District Manager to maintain current accounts and establish new business.
• Communicate effectively with customers and prospects to handle the day-to-day transactions and any questions related to those transactions.
• Know the market and be able to quote noncontract business within 1 hour of quote request. Follow up on quotes to book the business or understand why we were not successful.
• Understand and navigate our inventory in order to quote price and lead time along with assigning proper inventory to sales orders.
• Enter orders and understand processing times and set-ups.
• Follow up on orders to make sure they ship on time and act as a liaison between the plant, production, and sales.
• Monitor and alert District Manager of inventory issues for contract accounts.
• Perform outcalls to inactive and prospective customers.
• Keep District Manager updated on daily activity within the district.
• Monitor profitability in the district by reviewing the Sales and Cost Journal daily.
• Manage inventory in “Ship” warehouse to not exceed 120 days old.
• Demonstrate a professional and courteous attitude with internal and external customers.
• Continue to improve and learn product knowledge and industry trends.
Salary : $45,000 - $55,000
