The Vice President of Capital Markets & Acquisitions will play a critical role in driving the company’s growth strategy by leading both our capital markets activities and acquisitions efforts. This unique dual-role position requires a highly strategic and analytical leader with deep expertise in real estate finance, deal structuring, and acquisitions. The successful candidate will also oversee Investor Relations and lead the company’s Investment Committee, ensuring alignment with our strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Capital Markets:
• Lead the company’s capital markets strategy, focusing on debt and equity structuring for
new and existing properties.
• Develop and maintain relationships with financial brokers, institutions, investors, and
other capital partners.
• Oversee the financing process, including negotiating terms, securing funding, and
managing the capital stack for each acquisition.
• Drive fundraising efforts and manage investor relations, ensuring clear communication and
strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Analyze and optimize financial structures to maximize returns and support the company’s
growth objectives.
Acquisitions:
• Source, evaluate, and execute acquisition opportunities that align with the company’s
strategic growth plan.
• Lead the due diligence process, coordinating with legal, financial, and operational teams to
assess potential deals.
• Negotiate purchase agreements, financing terms, and other critical aspects of acquisition
transactions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth integration of acquired properties into
the company’s portfolio.
• Monitor market trends and competitive activity to identify new opportunities and risks.
Investor Relations:
• Oversee all investor relations activities, ensuring effective communication and
transparency with existing and potential investors.
• Prepare and present regular updates on the company’s performance, acquisitions, and
capital markets activities to investors.
• Manage the relationship with the investor community, addressing inquiries and maintaining
investor confidence.
Investment Committee:
• Lead the company’s Investment Committee, ensuring that all potential acquisitions and
capital market activities are thoroughly vetted and aligned with the company’s strategic
goals.
• Present detailed analyses and recommendations to the Investment Committee, guiding
decision-making processes.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA
or related advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in real estate finance, capital markets, and
acquisitions, preferably within the self-storage or commercial real estate sector.
• Proven track record of successfully leading complex real estate transactions, including
acquisitions and capital markets activities.
• Strong financial modeling, analysis, and structuring skills, with a deep understanding of
real estate finance principles.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Experience in investor relations and leading an investment committee is highly desirable.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to balance short-term objectives with long-term growth
goals.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
