Job Summary:
The Sr. Materials Manager oversees purchasing, planning, and inventory management to ensure seamless material supply for high-end indoor and outdoor cooking appliances manufacturing.
Main Responsibilities:
Purchasing & Supplier Management:
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and adherence to quality standards._
- Monitor supplier performance and drive corrective actions for delivery or quality issues._
- Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing to support supplier transitions and cost reduction initiatives._
Materials Planning & Inventory Management:
- Develop and maintain efficient material planning processes to support production without excess inventory._
- Optimize inventory turns and working capital by managing stock levels, safety stock, and lead times._
- Identify and resolve material shortages or delays to minimize production disruptions._
Manufacturing & Operational Support:
- Partner daily with manufacturing teams to ensure material availability and resolve supply-related issues._
- Support production efficiency by proactively managing materials flow and reducing bottlenecks._
- Work closely with quality teams to address material non-conformance and drive supplier corrective actions._
Cost Savings & Process Improvements:
- Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements in purchasing, planning, and inventory control._
- Implement best practices to improve supplier performance, reduce waste, and enhance supply chain reliability._
- Leverage data analytics to drive continuous improvement in procurement and material management processes._
Leadership & Communication:
- Lead a team of buyers and planners, providing guidance, training, and performance management._
- Foster collaboration between procurement, operations, and strategic sourcing teams._
- Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization to align supply chain goals with business objectives._
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field._
- 5 years of experience in materials management, purchasing, or supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment._
- Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and inventory management best practices._
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills._
- Proven leadership abilities with experience managing teams and cross-functional collaboration._
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and drive results._
