Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic team. This role involves working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for individuals with mental health disorders.
Duties
- Conduct thorough history & physical and psychiatric evaluations upon intake.
- Meet with each client in person 1 times weekly (remaining hours are flexible and can be remote).
- Provide oversight to onsite LVN's.
- Provide ongoing management of psychiatric and taper medications, including monitoring for efficacy and side effects.
- Collaborate with Medical Director to coordinate care for patients with complex needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and treatment progress.
- Stay updated on the latest research and best practices in psychiatric and addiction medicine.
Requirements
- Current Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and DEA license (in good standing).
- Familiarity with ICD-9 coding for mental health diagnoses.
- Knowledge of Kipu EMR preferred.
- Experience in working in inpatient substance use, detox, and/or mental health residential setting.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and families.
