We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Retail Wine Sales Manager to lead our tasting room team, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, driving wine sales, and fostering brand loyalty.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Experience & Hospitality

• Ensure every visitor receives a warm welcome and an engaging, educational wine tasting experience.
• Cultivate a sense of community and belonging, sharing the story of Villa Bellezza with passion.
• Train staff in hospitality, wine knowledge, and effective storytelling to enhance customer engagement.
• Manage guest flow, ensuring smooth service on both peak weekends and slower weekdays.
• Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and special requests with professionalism.

Sales & Wine Club Growth

• Develop and execute approaches to increasing tasting room sales.
• Actively promote and grow Il Circolo, Villa Bellezza’s wine club, through staff training and guest engagement.
• Train staff in upselling techniques, turning casual visitors into loyal patrons.
• Track and analyze sales performance, providing reports and recommendations for improvements.

Operations & Business Management

• Oversee daily tasting room operations, ensuring an efficient, clean, and organized environment.
• Manage inventory of wine, merchandise, and supplies.
• Ensure compliance with alcohol service regulations.
• Maintain the POS system, reconciling daily sales, handling cash flow, and monitoring financial performance.

Staff Leadership & Training

• Recruit, train, and schedule a team of tasting room associates, ensuring high levels of engagement and service.
• Conduct regular staff wine education sessions to enhance product knowledge.
• Lead by example, fostering a culture of teamwork, respect, and professionalism.
• Monitor performance, providing coaching and feedback to drive results.

Marketing & Brand Representation

• Collaborate with the social media manager to develop wine tastings new release, and special event promotions.
• Represent Villa Bellezza at industry events, wine festivals, and trade shows.
• Work closely with leadership to develop tasting experiences that reflect the winery’s vision and elevate the brand.

Key Qualifications

• Passion for wine, food, and guest experience—no formal tasting room experience required! We will provide training for the right candidate.
• Hospitality or customer service experience in restaurants, hotels, retail, or similar industries is highly valued.
• Strong people skills with the ability to create memorable experiences and build guest relationships.
• Comfort with sales and upselling, or a willingness to learn techniques to promote wine and club memberships.
• Leadership experience in managing teams, scheduling, or training staff is a plus.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.
• Experience with POS systems and handling transactions is helpful, but we will train the right person.
• Availability to work weekends, holidays, and peak season hours based on winery needs.
• ServSafe or equivalent alcohol safety certification preferred but not required—we can help with certification.
