Description
Villa Duchesne is seeking a full-time, experienced theatre educator to lead our Upper School (grades 7-12) Performing Arts Department. This candidate will teach theatre classes, coordinate curriculum, and direct and produce shows, including hiring and supervising technical staff. The candidate will have a conferred Bachelor of Arts or Fine Arts degree (master’s degree preferred) and have previous teaching experience preferably within a middle or high school. Villa Duchesne faculty members also serve as grade-level advisors and participate actively in the life of the school.
The ideal candidate will also:
- Have a strong sense of production values
- Inspire students to create and perform
- Have the ability to lead a creative team
- Have previous experience in directing both middle and high school students
- Have previous experience producing shows
- Be able to lead musicians and choreographers in both education (i.e. Theatre Class) and performance (i.e. producing a high school musical) settings
- Be a creative, dynamic leader
- Have experience utilizing Google Classroom
