Position Title: Head Coach, Rowing
Position Summary:
Villa Joseph Marie High School is seeking a Head Coach for the 2025-2026 school year Beginning in August 2025. VJM is a scholastic rowing program established in 2017 and trains on Lake Luxembourg about 5 miles from campus in Bucks County PA. In our short history VJM has experienced great competitive success, winning the Philadelphia City and Stotesbury Championships and qualifying 13 boats to the SRAA National Championship Regatta. VJM has a first-class fleet of boats, 8s and 4s, and equipment. This position oversees all aspects of the program including on-water and off-water training. This position reports directly to the Athletic Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- lead all aspects of the high school rowing program
- Manage the budget for the rowing program
- coach the varsity team and administer all aspects of the program
- hire assistant coaches
- Maintain and procure equipment
- Spearhead and manage fundraising efforts and team administration
- Attend academic open house events in the Spring and Fall semesters
- Develop training programs that ensure consistency for the team with varsity and novice coaches
- Provide technical and tactical coaching to improve individual and team performance
- Foster a competitive, inclusive, and supportive team environment
- Plan and oversee team logistics, including scheduling, and equipment maintenance and procurement
- Ensure compliance with all organizational, institutional, and governing body regulations
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with alumni, donors, and stakeholders
- Ensure all athletes adhere to safety protocols and best practices for water and land training
- Oversee proper maintenance of equipment and boatyard facilities
- Comply with Pennsylvania state requirements, background checks and safety training
Qualifications include:
· 3–5 years of coaching experience, preferably in a leadership role
· USRowing coaching certification Level 1 or 2 presently (or willingness to obtain)
· Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
· All clearances submitted and reviewed prior to contract execution

A competitive compensation package is provided based on experience and qualifications. Must have the following clearances completed. All clearances will be reviewed prior to executing a contract.
