Great opportunity for RN with Long-Term / Skilled Nursing Care experience:
Under general supervision of the Administrator and the Director of Nursing, the Assistant Director of Nursing manages Nursing Department's human and material resources, with responsibility and accountability for the provision of quality nursing care and service to facility residents/families, compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and adherence to company policy/procedure and budgetary guidelines. Functions with extensive autonomy in daily nursing department operations. Technical assistance, professional guidance, and quality monitoring is provided by the Director of Nursing, Medical Director, and Administrator.
Assist current DON in coordinating, in cooperation with the Administrator, ancillary health care and health education services for residents.
Ensure all required documentation is completed accurately and thoroughly, to include services and medication delivery, and that all records required by regulatory agencies or company policy are maintained effectively and according to guidelines.
Promote infection control procedures to be known and followed by all Associates. Track trends for Quality Management Review.
Assist in identifying Residents problems, concerns or issues and providing appropriate follow-up to ensure resolution.
Act as Resident advocate in medical/social situations involving Resident and/or designated agents, physician, or other agencies under the direction of the current DON.
Assist the DON in documentation, investigation and implementation of appropriate interventions for resident care needs/quality indicators.
Assist in verifying physician orders, move-in/move-out information and initiate appropriate action and follow-up.
Assist with routine daily rounds of residents to ensure needs are being met.
Will keep certification current and participate in continuing education to include staff meetings, in-services and web based trainings.

Qualifications
- Licensed Nurse in good standing with State Nursing Board.
- Significant technical experience and demonstrated leadership/management skills
- Geriatric nursing background.
- Restorative care philosophy, excellent professional skill (both assessment and hands-on and good communication, and organization skills).
- Working knowledge of nursing home regulations
- Ability to perform work tasks within the physical demand requirements as outlined below.
- Genuine care and interest in elderly and handicapped people.
- Ability to comply with the Patient Bill of Rights and the Employee Responsibilities.
- Ability to comply with Company and departmental safety policies and procedures.
- Accountable for nursing compliance, excellence, and delivery of resident care services in adherence with the company, local, state, and federal regulations.
