JOB TITLE : Tutor (Part-Time)

POSITION GRADE : 82 ($22.50 - $26.00 commensurate with experience and education)

DEPARTMENT / PROGRAM : Hope on the Horizon

SUPERVISOR : Hope on the Horizon Program Manager

FLSA STATUS : Non-Exempt

GENERAL SUMMARY :

Hope on the Horizon is seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-Time Tutor to provide academic support to students of various ages and skill levels. The ideal candidate will inspire and guide students toward achieving their educational goals, tailoring their approach to meet individual needs while fostering confidence. Carries out all job responsibilities with fidelity and accountability to the Agency’s Mission, Vision, Values, Guiding Principles, and Strategic Plan.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring in subjects such as math, science, English, and / or other specialized topics.
• Assist youth in developing study strategies, time management skills, and academic confidence.
• Create lesson plans or adapt existing materials to address students’ needs and learning styles.
• Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing feedback and strategies for improvement.
• Collaborate with youth, parents, and staff to ensure a supportive learning environment.
• Maintain accurate records of student sessions and progress reports.
• Uphold a positive and encouraging atmosphere that fosters learning and growth.
