Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting the technicians to ensure the health and well-being of animals in our care. This position requires a significant amount of hospital cleaning duties. The position is ideal for individuals passionate about animal welfare and looking to gain experience in a veterinary or animal care environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with animal handling during veterinary procedures or examinations.
- Maintain cleanliness of hospital
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals
- Assist with administering medications and treatments as directed by veterinary technicians and veterinarians
- Support front desk operations by greeting clients and managing appointments when needed
- Assist with laundry and wrapping surgical packs
Experience
- Previous experience in a kennel or veterinary setting is desirable, but not mandatory
Hours
- This is a weekday position for an afternoon shift 2pm/3pm to 6pm, 12-20 hours per week
