Villa's Childcare Center is seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Teacher to join our team. The Lead Teacher will be responsible for creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment, developing and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans, and fostering the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of children.

The Lead Teacher will supervise and collaborate with assistant teachers, maintain classroom safety and organization, and build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.

Duties
- Curriculum Planning and Implementation:
- Develop and execute daily lesson plans that align with the developmental needs and interests of the children.
- Incorporate creative and interactive activities that foster learning, exploration, and growth.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate the individual needs of each child.
- Classroom Management:
- Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Supervise children to ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
- Establish and enforce classroom rules to promote positive behavior and respect.
- Child Development and Assessment:
- Observe and document children’s progress, strengths, and areas for improvement.
- Conduct developmental assessments and communicate findings with parents during conferences or as needed.
- Provide support and strategies to help children reach developmental milestones.
- Leadership and Collaboration:
- Guide and mentor assistant teachers, ensuring teamwork and effective classroom operations.
- Model professionalism, patience, and positivity for staff and children.
- Collaborate with other teachers and the center's administration to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Family Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with families through regular communication.
- Provide updates on children’s progress, daily activities, and any concerns or achievements.
- Encourage family involvement in classroom activities, events, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Ensure all children are supervised and accounted for at all times.
- Follow all licensing regulations and Villa’s Childcare Center policies.
- Maintain a clean and sanitized classroom, including toys, equipment, and learning materials.
- Professional Development:
- Participate in ongoing training and workshops to stay updated on best practices in early childhood education.
- Maintain required certifications, such as CPR, First Aid, and continuing education credits.
- Administrative Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate attendance, incident reports, and other required documentation.
- Assist with the enrollment process and orientation for new children and families.
- Attend staff meetings and contribute to the center’s overall success.
- Creative and Inclusive Practices:
- Foster an environment that celebrates diversity and encourages inclusion.
- Use creative teaching strategies to engage children of all abilities and backgrounds.
- Other Duties as Assigned:
- Support other classrooms and teachers as needed.
- Participate in center-wide events and activities.
- Contribute ideas to enhance the quality of the childcare program.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in early childhood education (preferred 3 years).
- Registry Level (Wisconsin Early Childhood Career Levels) 5 or higher preferred.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Passion for early childhood education and child development.
- Willing to take additional regulatory training.
