Position Summary

The Fraud Analyst II is responsible for effective oversight of the Banks enterprise wide fraud program. The Fraud Analyst is responsible for assisting in developing, implementing, and administering all aspects of the Banks Fraud Program. Advises management of emerging fraud issues and assists with establishing controls to mitigate risks.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in maintaining a comprehensive enterprise wide Fraud Program including but not limited to:
    • Internal and External Fraud
    • Procedures governing the Banks Fraud Identification and Prevention Program.
    • Procedures and reporting guidelines for identifying and escalating fraud across the bank.

  • Analyzes fraud alerts generated by the Banks fraud software and the Banks core processor and determines the appropriate response. Responsible for researching and acknowledging Account Fraud alerts. These alerts include Online Account Takeover, Check Fraud, Deposit Fraud, ACH Fraud, Wire Fraud, and Card Fraud.

  • Reviews daily ACH batches and in clearing checks to identify potential fraudulent transactions.

  • Performs complex investigations related to fraud; consults with other members of ERM as well as Retail, Lending, and Operations during the investigation and resolution process.

  • Point of contact for bank wide fraud related communication primarily from Retail, Customer Care, Loan Servicing and Deposit Operations.

  • Serves as a subject matter expert for fraud.

  • Assists, as needed, in new product implementation and existing product enhancement with a focus on fraud mitigation.

  • Assists with building and improving monitored searches for fraud related activity. Assists with developing, implementing, and monitoring limits/thresholds/rules across the organization designed to minimize fraud.

  • Assists with drafting and implementing fraud related communications to customers and employees. Develops, as needed, customer communication/education specific to fraud.

  • Supports Community Commitment Initiative by volunteering or attending Bank sponsored events, charitable events, and networking.

Experience

Advanced knowledge of banking products.

3 years of direct experience in fraud detection and prevention.

Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation preferred.

Specific Skills Required

Must be able to analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions bank resources.

Must be able to perform a moderate level of mathematic calculations to support investigative analysis and reporting.

Must be moderately proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Must also be proficient in technology that the Bank uses to execute their specific duties and responsibilities.

Must be able to apply critical thinking in the application of policies, regulations and laws.

Must be able to identify and solve complex problems individually and as part of a group.
