Description
Title: Accounts Receivable Technician
Reports to: Director of Finance
Summary:
This position is responsible for specific daily record-keeping of the finances. This includes the first point of contact for all finance related inquires, telephone calls and visitors. This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service to all stakeholders by following established policies and procedures of the Finance Dept. in the performance of all duties.
It is preferable that church employees consistently attend worship service (virtually or physically) on a regular basis. By doing so, he/she will be more in touch with the life, activities, and patterns of Village Baptist Church.
Responsibilities:
- Providing excellent customer service to parents, students, etc. by being available to answer questions in person and on the phone, give directions, and receive payments, etc.
- The timely billing, collection, and posting of all account incidentals (Lunch, ASC, athletic fee, etc.).
- Prepare the deposits for VCA
- Receiving and verifying lunch account payments from cafeteria cashiers
- Accurately accounting for and recording all monies received on the Cash Receipts Journal Form including all cash, checks, credit & debit card payments (batch totals for debit card payments provided on a weekly basis)
- Notifying of all delinquent accounts by providing balance reports of all delinquent Renweb accounts (Lunch, Staff Lunch, ASC, etc.) on the first of each month as of the previous month end date or more frequently as requested
- Correspond with parents on past due balances
- Assisting in the collection of all delinquent incidental accounts
- Collect and record receipt of payments made through the week to VBC including camps and events
- Coordinate credit cards check out process and oversee accounts payable and credit card transactions entered into the accounting system.
- Performing other duties as assigned

Additional requirements:
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, finance or related field preferred
- Excellent mathematical skills with the ability to quickly learn church management software
- Previous experience from an educational environment and familiarity with Renweb/FACTS software a plus
- 2 years’ experience in reconciliation desired
