Description of the Role:

The Caregiver/CNA role at Village Caregiving in Bowling Green, Kentucky is a vital position in our organization. As a Caregiver/CNA, you will provide essential support for individuals who require assistance with their daily activities. Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and toileting
  • Monitor and record vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, and pulse
  • Assist with mobility and transfer clients using proper techniques and equipment
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
  • Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding
  • Complete household duties, such as light cleaning and laundry
  • Report any significant changes in clients' conditions to the supervisor

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in caregiving
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including manual lifting and bending
  • Empathy and compassion towards the elderly and individuals with disabilities

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing and eating
  • Help clients take prescribed medication and assist clients with ambulation
  • Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)
  • Plan and prepare meals
  • Assist with physical therapy exercises
  • Complete client’s shopping or accompany them to successfully do so
  • Perform housekeeping duties
  • Report any unusual incidents and act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
  • Offer activities that are essential for daily living by assisting patients with their meals, including serving and other tasks, if necessary
Qualifications
  • Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with physical capability to perform job-related duties
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation every single day
  • Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
  • Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends
  • Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year)
  • Willingness to enforce health and safety standards
  • Supportive and compassionate
  • High School Diploma or equivalent/Experience as a Caregiver, CNA or HHA, or completion of a CNA Program
  • Take pride in providing high quality care
  • Hoyer Lift Experience (specific to client)
