Patrol 14, Blue, 2300-0700
Patrol 8, Red, 1600-2400

JOB SUMMARY
This position maintains a presence in the various villages by continually patrolling designated areas to observe and report various resident issues and safety standards. In addition, Patrol Drivers serve to respond as needed to support District and / or local Public Safety personnel with traffic control or other areas as designated. Patrol Drivers exhibit a friendly and caring attitude when interacting with residents and guests to ensure positive community relations.
The schedule for this position is four days working then four days off on a rotating basis. Shifts are eight hours.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Includes, but not limited to)
Patrol
- Performs continuous patrol of assigned area during assigned shift.
- Assists any local or District Public Safety department personnel as directed.
- Relays observed traffic problems to Supervisor & Dispatch so that local authorities can be notified in a timely manner.
- Monitors and assists at any manned gatehouse as needed, including performing duties of gate attendant.
- Repairs or replaces damaged gate arms when observed, or report to dispatch for DPM assistance.
- Checks residents’ homes within assigned patrol area that are in the House Check program.
- Checks on residents participating in the Adult Watch program as directed by Dispatch.
- Checks RV lot(s) if within assigned patrol area or as directed.
- Reports all suspicious activity and or people observed while on shift in a timely manner to police and then to our Dispatchers / Supervisors.
- Locates solicitors so that local authorities can be notified.
- Obtains vehicle information on large moving trucks.
- Observes safe driving and greets new residents.
- Picks up hazardous debris in roadways when observed.
- Picks up road debris including deceased animals, palm fronds, etc.
- Wears appropriate uniform as designated in Department policies and procedures.
- Will be required to work some holidays.
- Reliable transportation to reach any of our annex buildings north and / or south.
South Annex is not accessible by golf cart, only by car.
