This position is located in the Lake Mary, FL office and requires a experience in Human Resources. You will contribute to the reputation and growth of the company by building stronger engagement and inter-company cooperation.

Position Purpose:

The Human Resources Coordinator position will be an integral part of the Corporate HR Team that aids with and facilitates the human resource processes at all business locations to keep the department operating at peak efficiency. Tasks will vary across a broad range of duties, from supporting the employee lifecycle, providing clerical support and data entry, to supporting your HR cohorts in their various responsibilities. This is a true team-oriented HR role that provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.  The successful individual must demonstrate the ability to create positive and effective work relationships as well as prioritize and work through projects independently. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Providing clerical and administrative support to the HR department such as documentation, filing, and data entry.
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions. Partners with Human Resource Team (Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, etc.) to respond to employees’ questions about policies, pay, and benefits
  • Support the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding.   Submits online investigation requests and assists with new-employee background checks.
  • Maintaining employee records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy of information.
  • Prepare reports for internal teams and auditors.
  • Evaluate and complete forms, such as W4 and I-9 for accuracy and adherence to procedure and regulatory requirements.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

In addition to the performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of company policies and procedures while working directly with local managers to ensure employee compliance.
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and compile reporting on compliance trainings, including online sexual harassment and workplace safety modules.
  • Assists with processing of terminations.
  • Assists with the preparation of the performance review process by supporting leaders through performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
  • Assists with recruitment and interview process. Tracks status of candidates in HRIS and responds with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process.

 

 

OTHER DUTIES

Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.  Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Village Farms International, Inc. from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. 

  • Help foster smoother communications internally, across departments, and locations.
  • Support all culture and office engagement initiatives.
  • Function as Payroll Backup when needed to cover time off.

  • Self-motivated, results oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, managing time and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently and within established timeframes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Advanced level written and verbal communications skills.
  • Intermediate level skills with the Microsoft Office Suite of applications, in particular Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams, and other relevant software.
  • Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response.

 

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

EDUCATION

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree required.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of previous experience in a Human Resources position.
