What are the responsibilities and job description for the Secondary ELA SY 24/25 position at Village Green Charter School?
Responsibilities:

Provide English Language Arts instruction to an assigned grade level. Teachers are responsible for 4-cohorts of students, with a maximum class size of 16.
Utilize and implement approved curriculum, providing modifications and scaffolding as necessary to meet student's individual needs in alignment with Common Core and WIDA Standards.
Participate actively in the weekly core content and grade-level department meetings, fostering a collaborative environment for shared learning and planning.
Maintain an open dialogue with Special Populations teachers to effectively plan and provide students with appropriate support and instruction for varying needs.
Report on each student’s educational and social progress through regular progress reports. In addition, academic report cards and 21st-century report cards are to be completed each semester.
Attend parent-teacher conferences and a yearly open house at the start of each school year.
Effectively manage and monitor student behavior in collaboration with the Dean of Students.
Upholds the school mission statement and communicates with school leadership to support this vision.
Incorporates students’ backgrounds and experiences to improve performance and enhance instruction by using various techniques to ensure content concepts are comprehensible and advance students’ English literacy.
Uses various assessment information to plan instruction and set all academic goals, plans, activities, and actions based on what is in the best interest of each student.
Consistently demonstrates a belief that the individual can learn and grow; learns from reflection and feedback; actively assesses knowledge, skills, and talent deficits; and makes a concerted effort to close gaps.
Maintains a positive and engaging learning environment.
Demonstrates ethical behavior, expectations, and a genuine concern for others under all circumstances.
