Village Home Stores (Downtown Geneseo) is looking for an applicant to add to our busy Lighting and Window Treatment team. You will work with new and existing customers to help them make lighting and blind selections for their home. Village Home Stores works with new home customers, DIY customers, and home remodelers. Every project we work on is different from the next. Great hours in a fun and exciting industry. No Nights, Short Saturdays, No Sundays!

Position Requirements:

• Lighting and window treatment experience preferred, but we will train the right candidate
• General knowledge in electrical and building codes
• Current with design trends and enthusiastic about the industry

Position Job Responsibilities:

• Greet customers entering the lighting showroom
• Assist walk-in and appointment customers with lighting purchases by utilizing good product knowledge
• Schedule and meet with customers by appointment who have larger scale projects and require more time
• Schedule and execute job site visits with lighting customers to gain needed knowledge to create accurate quotes and help them make the best choice for their situation
• Create accurate lighting quotes utilizing Quickbooks and XO Lighting Online
• Become an expert in under cabinet lighting technical aspects and design and quote under cabinet lighting projects
• Design and quote Adorne Switches and Outlets
• Assist walk-in and appointment customer with window treatments by utilizing good product knowledge
• Follow up with customers and aggressively cold call potential window treatment leads such as new construction clients already working with us to gain opportunities to bid projects
• Schedule and execute job site visits for final measurements on window treatment orders
• Accurately read blue prints to create a list of needed light fixtures
• Assist with answering phones
• Assist with maintaining lighting showroom
• Perform miscellaneous tasks around lighting showroom such as hanging fixtures, price tags, dusting, ect.
• Pull bulb packages for all jobs
• Assist with ordering, tracking and receiving lighting products (will include minor lifting)
• Order replacement fixtures when needed and return damaged/defective when necessary
• Coordinate window treatment installation
• Assist in the success of Village Home Stores in any way possible

Hours: Monday—Thursday, 8:45am-5pm; Saturdays (2 out of 4) - 8:45am - 12pm = 65 1/4 Hours/Pay Period

Compensation:
Wage - $12.00/hr; Additional worked hours (beyond 40 per week) will be paid at an overtime rate of 1 1/2 times hourly wage ($18.00/hr.).
NOTE—First two pay periods the hourly rate will be $16/hour to work towards building sales.

Commission—5% of all gross retail lighting sales; 2 1/2% of all gross new construction sales;
20% of all net window treatment sales profit (sale price - cost of goods & installation)
