What are the responsibilities and job description for the Meat Cutter/Butcher position at Village Market Grocery Store?
- Cutting and preparing of all varieties and cuts of meat
- Planning meat merchandise for daily, weekly and holiday sales.
- Communicates with others in a polite and professional manner.
- Maintain sanitation standards
- Perform sweeping and cleaning function
- Sells, stocks, prepares, and packages meat items.
- Handles knives, saws and power operated equipment
- Rotates product and ensures compliance with expiration dates.
- Comply with OSHA health and safety regulations
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to Learn cutting and preparing of all types of meat.
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Regular attendance Required
- Strong customer service skills Required
- Lifts, manipulates, pushes and pulls items of varying sizes up to 100 pounds.
- Regular exposure of 30 degree refrigeration and handling product in coolers, cases & freezers
- Require use of plastic or latex gloves & other safety equipment.
- Bends and stoops, twists and turns.
- Standing and walking for long periods of time are required.
- Must be available weekends and Holidays.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $19.00 per hour
