Seasonal Laborer - 3 Month Position
Streets Dept and Doubleday Field
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Performs routine manual work; does related work as required.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This is routine manual work requiring physical endurance and a willingness to perform menial tasks. Constant supervision is maintained over the work at all times.
EXAMPLES OF WORK: (Illustrative only)
Assists in patching and grading streets;
Loads and unloads trucks;
Cleans streets, culverts and basins;
Removes snow from streets;
Assists in the repair of sewer and catch basins;
Digs and refills trenches for water pipe lines;
Cuts grass and assists in ground maintenance activities;
Cutting and trimming trees;
Road maintenance;
Helping in construction of park buildings;
Maintenance of park facilities;
Operates snow plow or power sander in the clearing of roads;
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Willingness to perform routine manual work; ability to lift heavy weights; willingness to work under all weather conditions; physical endurance; good physical condition. APPLICANTS MUST BE AT LEAST 18.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: From $17.75 per hour

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
