What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Summer Tennis Instructor position at Village of DeForest?
Do you enjoy youth, teaching and tennis? Would you like to share your interest in the game and skills of tennis with youth in the DeForest community? The Summer Youth Tennis Instructor Instructor will assist the Tennis Coordinator, lead and supervise youth tennis lessons and activities through the Village of DeForest Recreation & Community Enrichment Department. This employee must possess excellent verbal communication, public relations, and tennis instruction skills. This employee should provide a warm and inviting atmosphere for those individuals attending the program.
Qualifications
- Must have knowledge of tennis.
- Experience instructing youth tennis is preferred.
- Experience working with youth 4-16 years of age.
- CPR, first aid, and AED certification is preferred.
- Must clear a background check.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily activities for the youth tennis camp, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for all participants.
- Supervise and manage groups of children, fostering teamwork and sportsmanship.
- Implement lesson plans that promote skill development in tennis while incorporating fun and interactive games.
Special Requirements
- The hours Monday - Thursday are 8:30am – 12:45pm.
- Lessons start the second week of June and run for 4 weeks giving 8 classes for each session.
- Team tennis schedule is Monday & Wednesdays 12:30 – 1:45pm and Fridays 10am – 12pm.
- Village of DeForest Application must be completed before interviewing.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 18 per week
