JOB
Operates communication and computer equipment to provide administrative support to sworn personnel, citizens of the community, other law enforcement agencies, social services, and the district attorney's office by processing paperwork and documents created by the department through a variety of clerical duties which includes but not limited to data entry and data retrieval.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Provides information and administrative support.Receives, screens and routes incoming phone calls to appropriate personnel or agencies.Provides assistance to citizens at the window.Provides copies of complaints for citizens and other agencies through open records requests.Completes police reports by entering information into the county Records Management System (RMS) computer, transcribing the narrative dictated by the officer, and making appropriate copies when complete.Observes surveillance camera and reports unusual activity.Adheres to department and Village policy.Completes assigned projects.Files attachments and other documents.Processes reports & forwards copies to appropriate agencies, such as Juvenile Intake, Domestic Abuse, District Attorney’s Office, Department of Transportation, etc. Enters citations, summons, warnings and other data into the records management system.Types priority complaints as needed and non-priority complaints when appropriate.Prepares Uniform Crime Reporting, Wisconsin Incident Base Report System (WIBRS) to FBI.Prepares the court docket, citations, summons and other paperwork for municipal court.Participates in municipal court as court assistant.Assists with criminal checks for the Village Clerk and other departments when necessary.Additional Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperates various office equipment including computers, printers, dictation equipment, two-way radio, fax machines, copy machines, cash register, laminating machine, etc.Operates the teletype as an advanced TIME system operator.Attends in-service training.Is flexible and adaptable to changes that will occur.Perform other functions as required or assigned.
