Summary of Job
The Germantown Fire Department is seeking candidates for Firefighter / Paramedic and Firefighter / EMT. There are currently 4 immediate positions to fill. Full-time employees work a rotating 24 / 48 schedule with split time on heavy apparatus and med rigs. Lateral transfers are accepted.
Responsibilities include responding to calls for service, fire suppression activities, rescue, and property preservation; provides pre-hospital EMS care to patients; preforms with limited supervision through Fire Department Standard Operating Guidelines and established protocols and directives; maintains a state of readiness of facilities and equipment by scheduled inspections, cleaning, testing, and maintenance; promotes health and safety of the department and community through education; performs related work as required, including administrative and operational tasks to meet department goals / mission.
Salary : This position is compensated at $57,338 DOQ annually starting and includes a competitive benefits package including health, life, dental, and income continuation insurance; State of WI retirement (WRS); and paid-time-off upon hire. Typical Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications :
- 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Wisconsin Driver's License
- Wisconsin State Certified Firefighter 1 (within 1 year of Hire)
- Wisconsin State Certified EMT-B or higher
