Description
The Village of Glendale Heights is seeking three School Crossing Guards to promote safety of children who are walking to and from school. This position involves regulating pedestrian and vehicular traffic at an assigned location at designated times when children are walking to and from school. The School Crossing Guard must be aware of suggested school travel routes and be able to interact with school authorities concerning the safety of the children.
Qualifications
Duties include the ability to relate to children and school personnel; maturity and sense of responsibility towards children who use school travel routes that fall within the assigned location of the School Crossing Guard; ability to handle any incidents; some knowledge of the streets and landmarks in the assigned area of responsibility.
Hourly rate is $17.00. This position is a seasonal position, averaging 10 hours per week during the school year.
All job offers are conditional upon the satisfactory outcome of pre-employment drug testing and background check. Employees are required to have their permanent residency within a 15-mile radius, unless an exception is approved by the Village Administrator.
