JOB DESCRIPTION Title : Finance Clerk FLSA Status : Non-Exempt Work Status : Part-Time Effective Date : 02 / 2025
GENERAL PURPOSE
We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Part-Time Finance Clerk to join our team at the Village of Glenwood. The Finance Clerk will assist with day-to-day accounting and office management practices. The Finance Clerk will need to perform daily tasks with attention to detail, speed and accuracy. Under supervision from the Finance Operations Manager. The Finance Clerk’s primary responsibility is accounts receivables functions. Additional daily tasks will include, but are not limited to, general clerical, including copying and filing, and providing support to the public at the front counter.
The salary range for this position is an hourly rate between $20.00 - $23.00 per hour. The work hours estimated for this position will range from 15-25 hours per week. The hours of operation for this role are from 8 : 30 am – 5 : 00 pm, CST.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Verifies, posts, and records a variety of financial transactions; prepares and maintains databases, records, and a variety of periodic and special financial, accounting, and statistical reports.
- Generate reports accordingly as needed by computer and balance them appropriately.
- Reconcile bank statements and file all bank statements.
- Accumulates information from external sources; calculates, posts, balances, and reconciles data for financial accounts.
- Identifies, traces, and otherwise resolves discrepancies in accordance with established procedures.
- Prepares journal entries for monthly closing.
- Keep records of all NSF checks returned from the Bank and provide communication to the responsible party for resolution.
- Entering Journal Entries into Glenwood’s financial system.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Completion of 2 years of accounting-related college courses or 2 years of equivalent accounting-related work experience or a bachelor’s degree preferred.
2. Must have strong interpersonal communication skills.
3. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
4. Microsoft programs, Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The Village may be a busy facility. The Finance Clerk may have to manage a number of projects at one time and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of residents, clients and contractors. The Finance Clerk may find the environment to be busy, noisy and will need excellent organizational and time and stress management skills to complete the required tasks.
