What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finance Account Clerk (Part-time) position at Village of Lincolnwood?
The Village of Lincolnwood, Illinois (13,463 2020 census) is seeking a responsible and energetic individual to assist the Finance Department to serve as a Part-Time Account Clerk. The Account Clerk serves in a strong customer service role to assist residents and the public and processes payments for services provided by the Village.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Prepare, organize, enter, balance, process reports, and post to general ledger vouchers, time keeping data, master file information, billing data, receipts data, as applicable to maintain a single journal of the Villages General Ledger, including each of the following: (1) Cash receipts; (2) Water billing; and (3) Other municipal billing
- Responsible for receiving and answering inquiries related to the Finance Department and general Village queries
- Problem solving and responds to inquiries relating to assigned journals
- Coordinates with Department of Public Works all water related issues, including water shut-offs and final water reads
- Responsible for purchasing of office supplies and equipment for the Village along with replenishing the Villages postage meter and coordinating mail service for the Villages operations
- Performs cashier duties at the front counter and balances cash register on a daily basis
- Coordinates the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions for the Village
- Comply with all Village Policies, Protocols, and Procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Education/Experience
A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required with one to two years of clerical or data entry experience. Experience working for a Village or Finance Department is preferred. The successful candidate will possess the following characteristics and abilities: ability to deal with the public tactfully and courteously, ability to use a variety of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Springbrook, LAMA, and Aclara. The successful candidate will have the ability to proofread, photocopy, collate, sort, file, and prepare documents for mailing.
The pay range for this position is $26.37 to $33.79 per hour. It is a part-time role with a maximum of 29 hours per week. The position requires onsite work five days a week, Monday through Friday, during operating hours from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some flexibility in scheduling may be available. This is an IMRF Eligible position. The position does not qualify for any other benefits.
