What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Basketball Referee position at Village of Milan?
Responsible for enforcing the rules and regulations of basketball games; officiating and monitoring gameplay to
ensure fair play and sportsmanlike conduct; making decisions on fouls, violations, and other infractions;
communicating with coaches and players to resolve conflicts and answer questions; and keeping accurate records
of game scores, fouls, and other important information.
Requirements:
Prior experience as a basketball referee or officiating experience in another sport; excellent knowledge of the rules
and regulations of basketball; strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with players, coaches,
and other officials effectively; a high degree of physical fitness and endurance to keep up with the pace of the
game; ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations; and availability to work flexible hours,
including evenings and weekends.
Completion of a referee training program or certification course may be required.
