Summary
Under the general direction of the Public Services Director or the Assistant Director(s) of Public Services, serves as a working field supervisor who directs, supervises, and physically works in the field with all other department employees and sub-contractor employees. Field operations include, but are not limited to landscape and grounds keeping maintenance, park maintenance, irrigation system maintenance, tree maintenance, snow removal, and job-related equipment maintenance activities.

Requirements

- A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional training in public works, general maintenance, or related field is required. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a pesticide applicator license within 24 months.
- Must possess a valid State of Michigan Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a satisfactory driving record, and have the ability to maintain one throughout employment.
- Considerable knowledge of landscaping and grounds keeping operations, including irrigation systems, landscape design concepts, and urban forestry.
- Considerable knowledge of equipment, materials and supplies used in landscaping and grounds keeping maintenance; working knowledge of equipment and supplies used to perform the duties of department.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.82 - $32.99 per hour
