Performs work assisting in the operation and maintenance of Pinecrest Gardens and its infrastructure.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assists the Manager in overseeing daily facility maintenance, ensuring compliance with State and Federal health codes. Conducts inspections, identifies safety hazards, and coordinates necessary repairs.
- Supervises and assists with maintenance tasks, including pressure cleaning, graffiti removal, painting, and repairs to buildings and grounds.
- Manages vendor repairs, subcontractors, and service contracts within budgetary guidelines. Schedules routine maintenance such as plumbing and septic services.
- Assists Manager and supports the department with liaising on capital improvement projects.
- Coordinates the installation and upkeep of campus signage throughout season and during special events.
- Assists with the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures.
- Assists in the monitoring and maintenance of the facility, structures and recreational equipment in adherence with applicable State and Federal health codes.
- Supervises, schedules, and delegates work assignments to Garden Service Aides.
- Assists in hiring, training, and evaluating staff performance.
- Provides regular hands-on training to ensure high-quality customer service and adherence to facility policies and safety standards.
- Enforces facility rules and safety protocols, reporting violations to management. Taking corrective action as necessary.
- Oversees and drives event logistics, including setup, breakdown, and cleanup for programs, rentals, and special events.
- Oversees weekly Farmers Market, liaising with market operator, community partners, and staffing of the Garden’s information table.
- Supervises recreation areas at Pinecrest Gardens including the Splash N Play and Mini Zoo areas, including overseeing the care and well-being of mini zoo animals.
- Manages parking logistics, including striping and overflow parking arrangements.
- Oversees and follows cash handling procedures, supervises staff processing daily close-out of transactions, and reconciles admissions, concessions, and event sales.
- Assists manager with daily maintenance of cash banks, ticket scanners and credit card machines.
- Manages inventory control for animal feed, cleaning supplies, and resale concessions, ensuring proper procurement and invoice reconciliation.
- Provides exceptional customer service by assisting visitors in person and over the phone with facility rentals, memberships, and event inquiries.
- Maintains inventory for campus signage and stored marketing materials.
- Responds to public inquiries and complaints, ensuring timely resolution of service issues.
- Assists with clerical duties, record-keeping, and lost-and-found management.
- Attends weekly logistics meetings and other meetings as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Four-year degree or equivalent years of experience and three (3) years of experience in destination venue, gardens, cultural arts centers, parks or facility maintenance, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Qualifications:
- Must have a thorough knowledge of basic rules of safety and ability to enforce applicable rules and regulations.
- Must possess excellent customer service skills and be able to establish good customer relations. Must have an ability to deal with people effectively, courteously and enthusiastically.
- Must be physically able to perform duties, which may require walking, crawling, kneeling, or standing for prolonged periods of time and heavy lifting.
- Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word.
- Must have considerable knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
- Must maintain high ethical, honesty and moral standards.
- Must be prepared and available to work during a hurricane in the Village’s EOC.
- Must be fluent in the English language. Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.
- Must be a non-smoker.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a licensed driver status in the State of Florida.
- Ability to become CPR and AED certified within six months of hire.
- Ability to become AFO and Parks & Recreation certified.
- Ability to work assigned schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays.
- Ability to balance, crouch, feel, finger, grasp, handle, lift/push/pull objects, reach, make repetitive motions with the hands, express ideas through speaking, use mental/visual faculties and hear sound.
- Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Ability to be held accountable for inventory/property management.
- Ability to use small office equipment, including copy machines or multi-line telephone systems.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work outdoors for long periods of time.
- Ability to perform several tasks at one time.
- Ability to maintain a high level of organization.
- Ability to prioritize duties and meet department goals and deadlines.

Salary : $59,883 - $92,810
