This part-time position offers an average of 15 hours per week, with working hours tailored to meet business needs, primarily during weekdays. The position requires flexibility and adaptability to align with scheduling demands.An employee in this class performs duties ensuring strict adherence to municipal parking regulations within the designated area of the Center Village Business District. Work includes monitoring parking activity, enforcing rules, and providing timely intervention to address parking-related issues. Work also includes identifying potential parking violations, issuing citations as needed, and providing assistance regarding parking policies. Work involves frequent public contact with business owners, visitors, and residents to foster positive relationships, understand parking challenges, as well as enforce parking regulations. The employee is also expected to serve as a mediator in parking disputes, offering support and guidance to help resolve conflicts in a fair and efficient manner. Work is performed under general supervision and is evaluated through observation, review of reports, and discussion concerning how particular incidents or activities were handled.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Patrols assigned area on foot or via vehicle to enforce parking regulations.Identifies and responds to parking violations as needed.Works closely with business owners and staff to gain parking compliance for vehicles found in violation of Village ordinances as appropriate.Notes improperly parked vehicles and takes appropriate enforcement action.Answers inquiries from the general public and provides directions and street locations.Files parking citations according to established procedures.Prepares daily reports of activities.Performs other related duties as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Possession of a valid driver’s license required. Graduation from an accredited high school or GED. No specific experience required. Prior ordinance enforcement experience preferred.
