To deliver of a high-quality swimming program with high returning rates teaching participants of all ages and abilities water safety and swimming skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 15 years of age
- Excellent customer service experience
REQUIREMENTS
- A passion for swimming and the ability to effectively perform instructional swimming techniques within the established guidelines and structure of Hap Parker Family Aquatic center
- Preferred certifications: Lifeguard Training; Water Safety Instructor; C.P.R. for Professional Rescuer; Community First Aid and Safety; A.E.D.; but not required
- Comfortable engaging with children and their caretakers
- Maintain professional interaction while instructing lessons and enforcing safety policies
- Ability to effectively communicate and be patient with children of all ages
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION
- Able to make sound judgments and decisions involving rules to the pool and swimming lessons
- Able to make sound judgments in an emergency situation
- Conduct all classes while ensuring safety of all students
- Remain alert at all times while providing a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for class participants
- Strive to greet all children by name
- Development of good strong positive relationships with participants; their caretakers; and other swim lesson instructors
- Be professional; courteous; and always tactful
- Help maintain a safe and clean pool environment
- Responsible for care and cleaning of equipment used
- Communicate needs; ideas; complaints and suggestions with supervisor
- Attend staff meetings
- Adhere to assigned dress code
