GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
Assists in performing routine work in connection with the lubrication of mechanical equipment. Performs related duties as required.
COMPLEXITY OF DUTIES:
Under direct and close supervision, assists in the lubrication, maintenance of cleaning of power generation engines, machinery and equipment.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
1. Assists in lubricating, maintaining, cleaning and checking engines in power generating units.
2. Assists in making inspections of water, fuel and oil pumps, filters and storage tanks.
3. Assists in starting and stopping engines.
4. May check and record readings from generator control panel instruments.
5. Assists in gauging and pumping fuel oil tanks.
6. May operate air compressor.
7. May assist in making routine adjustments or minor repairs to mechanical equipment.
8. Keep tools, equipment and work areas clean and in good condition.
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
1.Some knowledge of tools and equipment used to lubricate engines and power generating machinery.
2. Some knowledge of safety procedures
3. Ability to check and record meter and gauge readings accurately.
4. Ability to understand and follow instructions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Training and Experience
Graduation from high school
