What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Police Records Clerk position at Village of Stone Park?
The Village of Stone Park Police Department is seeking qualified candidates for the position of part-time Records Clerk. The Records Clerk reports to the Records Supervisor. The job duties Records Clerk include, but not limited to, a variety of responsible clerical and technical duties related to the maintenance of Police Department records; to provide help and information to Police Department staff, other Village Departments and the public; and to provide responsive, courteous and efficient service to Village residents and the general public.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain reports and records in the Department’s record management system; maintain the integrity of documents and information sensitive to public safety and law enforcement.
- Assist the public by answering or seeking the answers to a variety of questions concerning the Police department and the Village regarding its ordinances, policies and procedures.
- Operate LEADS state records system to retrieve data regarding persons and vehicles and must be able to obtain LEADS certification within 6 months of hire.
- Process all facets of all infractions including: data entry, receipt and post payments, prepare violator notifications for Administrative hearing dates and fine escalations; update records as necessary.
Records personnel utilize several computer programs including CIS, PIPS, CAPERS, All Tech and LEADS. This position requires excellent communication and organizational skills. Qualified candidates must possess a high school diploma and two years of clerical / customer service experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this position.
