POLICE OFFICER

The Village is currently accepting applications for a full-time Police Officer. This position protects life and property, enforces federal, state and local laws, investigates criminal activity and responds to emergency/non-emergency situations.
Open until filled. The current starting pay is $66,532.86, and negotiations have commenced between the Village and the PBA for a new 3-year contract, to take effect 10/1/2025.

- Be 21 years of age or older
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by completion of basic police officer training academy
- Have U.S. citizenship
- Be able to pass a medical examination
- Be able to pass a thorough background check
- Possess a valid Florida drivers license or be able to obtain one prior to employment
- Demonstrated ability to perform work requiring little supervision
- Good physical condition
- Sound conflict resolution skills
- Sound oral and written communication skills
- Technical competence with computers
- Vacation leave (0-4 years = 2 weeks; 5-9 years = 3 weeks; 10 years = 4 weeks)
- Personal days (3 days annually)
