Job Title: Utility Worker/Dishwasher
Job Overview: The Utility Worker/Dishwasher at Village Park Milton plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and operational efficiency of our kitchen. This position is responsible for ensuring all kitchenware, utensils, and equipment are sanitized and ready for use, and assisting in maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen area. The role is essential to uphold our commitment to health and safety standards for the benefit of our residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wash and sanitize dishes, kitchen utensils, equipment, and other kitchen items, either by hand or using dishwashers.
- Support kitchen staff by prepping ingredients such as washing and chopping vegetables and fruits.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including storage areas and food preparation zones.
- Dispose of trash and recyclables appropriately, following environmental and health regulations.
- Assist in unloading and storing deliveries of food and kitchen supplies.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies are stocked and notify management when supplies are low.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage procedures.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and dietary staff to ensure smooth operation and timely meal service.
- Perform additional maintenance tasks as needed, such as sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning walls and windows, and maintaining outdoor kitchen-related areas.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a kitchen/utility role preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and understanding of sanitation regulations.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- A commitment to the values of compassion and service, catering to the elderly.
