General Purpose:
Performs chemical/fertilizer applications and assists the superintendent on a 60 acres Executive Golf Course.
Pay range: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
Essential Duties:
- Performs routine safety inspections on all spraying and fertilizer equipment.
- Reads, understands and keeps current up-to-date material safety data sheets (MSDS).
- Maintains chemical storage and mixing areas in compliance with governmental regulations.
- Responsible for ensuring the safety and direction of chemical/fertilizer handlers and/or helpers.
- Keeping records of any fertilizer or chemical applications.
- Ensures proper calibration of all spraying/fertilizing equipment.
- Assist the superintendent and collaborate to supervise the crew.
- Performs other duties as required.
Education/Experience:
- Certificate from college or technical school; or 1to 2 years at least of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination and experience.
- Current Certified Florida O&T License or obtained within 90 days of employment.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly stand and walk. Occasionally sits, climbs or balances, tastes or smells.
- Regularly uses hands; reaches with hands or arms; stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls; talks or hears.
- Able to lift 50 pounds.
- Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:
- Ability to read and speak English and little Spanish is required to communicate well with the entire crew.
- Computer skill, excel.
