Position Overview
The Plumbing Retro Commercial Tradesman specializes in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems in commercial buildings such as offices, factories, hospitals, and schools. The ideal candidate will ensure the plumbing systems are designed and installed in compliance with local building codes and industry standards. Retro Commercial Plumbers are responsible for a wide range of tasks, including installing and maintaining pipes, fixtures, and appliances in commercial buildings. May also be required to troubleshoot and repair problems with plumbing systems, such as leaks, clogs, and low water pressure. In addition to these tasks, may also be responsible for installing and maintaining backflow prevention systems. The ideal candidate must have a thorough understanding of local building codes and regulations, as well as the latest industry standards and technologies. They must also possess strong problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Technical Responsibilities of the Job
- Cast Iron Waste Lines ( using bands and snap cutters)
- ABS Drain Lines (using pipe cutters and glue)
- Copper water lines (measure, cut, clean, flux and solder)
- CPVC water lines (measure, ream, glue)
- Black iron gas line (layout, measure, run gas machine, install)
- PEX water lines (cut pipe, use fitting expander)
- Must own your own basic plumbing tools and battery operated tools (we supply power tools)
- Able to transport issued tools from job site to job site including ladder
- Experience in Residential plumbing installation
- Operate threading machine
- Operate a drill and Sawzall
- Lift and carry over 80lbs at a time
- Knowledge of local codes for installation is a plus
- Lean Principles including 5S
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor and Management.

- Prior construction or plumbing experience a plus
- PEX Certification preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Graduate of Apprenticeship Program is required for Journeyman
- Subject to adverse weather conditions – extreme heat and cold
- Job sites can be loud, dusty,
- Level of supervision to be expected
- May be working in elevated areas (up to 3 stories)
- Climbing, stooping, bending, crawling
