Villari Foods is currently seeking a 3 first-shift Production Supervisor for the VBF Injection Department, or RTE Department, or our Sausage Kitchen Department. This position will be over the VBF Injection Department, or RTE Department, or our Sausage Kitchen Department. The right candidate will have strong leadership skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to quality products. They’ll be responsible for supervising and coordinating employees.
Position Overview:
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in grinding, mixing, stuffing, packing, curing, shipping, and smoking meats such as hot dogs, smoked sausage, hams, loins, bacon, and variety of smoked meats. This position is responsible for food safety.
Specific Duties:
- Following formulas for batching injection, mixing, emulsifying, stuffing, curing, or cooking meats.
- Work with USDA and QA inspectors to ensure food safety and quality.
- Work with Human Resources to ensure staffing levels are met, fostering positive employee relations, employee safety, policy & practice adherence, and employment/labor law compliance.
- Follow specifications for operating and maintaining equipment.
- Trains workers in safe, productive, efficient operation of equipment.
- Manage associate performance through training, coaching, and counseling, the performance improvement program, and evaluations.
- Plans and directs associates in the performing of GMPs, SSOPs, and CCPs for the area.
- Mixes dry and liquid curing mixtures and spices with meat (injection, and Kitchen only).
- Controls smoke-room equipment, batching, grinding, mixing, emulsification of raw meat, stuffing into casings, and packing.
- Observes dial indicators and recording instruments to verify specified operating conditions of smoke houses and to detect machine and equipment malfunctions.
- Observe the color and appearance of meats and feel products to verify quality.
- Performs other duties as described under supervisor.
- Ensure a safe work environment for associates through proactive safety inspections,
- ensuring PPE is worn, associated training, compliance with written programs, accident investigation, and seeing that any hazards are corrected.
- Must be trained in HACCP and SQF protocol.
- Perform all other tasks assigned by management.

- The work environment will include cold temperatures between 50℉ to 10℉ (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, and exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals. Villari Foods will provide cold-weather gear to you.

- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds
